Homeowners Associations my be run by volunteers, but the influence they have over our lives and property is not to be taken lightly. The following information is a primer on HOAs found in Yahoo’s Home Buying Guide. Please read the primer and comment if you think that any of these items sound familiar.
A schedule of Brookstone HOA Board meetings was quietly added the Brookstone website today. The Board will meet tonight at the Carpenter Village Club House at 7 PM. According to the message, all Board meetings are now open to all homeowners.
The Brookstone Bylaws, Article VI, Section 1, require that:
“Regular meetings of the Board of Directors shall be held at least quarterly without notice, at such place and hour as may be fixed from time to time by resolution of the Board.”
So technically the Board isn’t obligated to notify homeowners ahead of time when the meeting will take place. Making the meetings open to Homeowners, signifies a change in policy by the Board.
So does anybody know where the Carpenter Village Club House is?
