Dear Neighbors,
Spring is coming and we have an update from the Brookstone HOA Board
Annual Meeting: Our Annual meeting is fast approaching. It will be on Thursday April 24th, 7pm at Hope Chapel Church in Apex, (across from Salem Schools). From 6:30-7pm we will enjoy appetizers catered by Biaggi’s! Our meeting will begin promptly at 7pm. You will also receive communication from PPM about the Meeting, including an agenda.
Board Positions: The term for two of our Board members Tami Barone and Scott Rockafellow will come to an end in April. We’d like to thank them both for their 3+ years of service to our neighborhood! At the annual meeting we will be electing two new board members. If you would like to apply, to serve the neighborhood, please fill out the attached application. We will post the completed applications on the neighborhood website and distribute them through the neighborhood email list. This way, everyone can read about the candidates prior to the Annual Meeting. There is no deadline to apply, we take nominations from the floor at the Annual Meeting as well, however the sooner you fill out your application, the more time residence have to review and decide for whom they would like to vote.
Responsibilities of the board members are detailed in the Bylaws of the Brookstone Community Association and are listed under Article VII Powers and Duties of the Board of Directors. Please reference this document on the Brookstone website www.brookstoneweb.org, under Important Documents.
We are looking for a neighbor who will be in service to the Brookstone Community and intends to advocate on behalf of its residents within the best interest of the entire community. As a member of the board, you will attend regular meetings of the board, at a minimum quarterly and at some points in the year on a monthly basis. Our meetings typically last 2 hours and are most commonly held on a weeknight evening from 7-9pm.
Newsletter: We are working on a newsletter and hope to have one ready for you soon. Board member Tina Steed is now chair of the newsletter committee and she needs your help. If you can volunteer some of your time to help with this important form of communication for our neighborhood, please contact Tina, tina.steed@oracle.com You should also contact Tina if you have something to add to the newsletter.
Neighborhood Yard Sale: Our Spring Yard Sale is scheduled for Saturday April 19th, 8am – 12noon. Volunteers are needed to help put up signs on Friday night and take them down on Saturday afternoon. If you can volunteer to help with the yard sale, please email Margaret Klemmer margaret@streamview.net
